Dodd Camera is a camera store based in Cleveland, Ohio. The company was founded in 1891 and currently has eleven stores in Northern Ohio including Cleveland, Medina and Akron plus a rental store in Chicago, Illinois. There are also five Click Camera stores in Dayton, Ohio, which is owned by Dodd Camera.
Dodd Camera sells and rents high end, professional camera and video equipment and accessories to professional photographers, and offers many other services as well. These services include photography services, developing, printing and online printing, equipment rental, video transfer, and camera and video repair service.
Some of the online services offered by Dodd Camera are online printing services, with which you send your digital images, place your order, and they will send you your prints when they are ready, and online photo albums, where you can store and share your photos with your membership. Dodd Camera also offers photo gifts and photo greeting cards that you can order online.
If you are a professional photographer and have a job coming up that will require special equipment or lights that you don't currently have, you can rent them from Dodd Camera for a fraction of the cost of purchasing what you need for just one job. Some of the items offered for rental are 35mm cameras and equipment, Polaroid cameras, panoramic cameras, projection equipment and tripods. If you aren't a professional photographer yet, but think perhaps you would like to be, check out the free digital camera class offered by Dodd Camera. The class will teach you about the different types of cameras, what a megapixel is and why it is important, how to effectively use the Zoom lens and still get a great photograph, plus information on the features and menus you will find on high end digital cameras.
There are also several courses that you can register for including Digital 101, photo tutoring, and SLR classes. These courses aren't free like the digital camera class, but if you really want to learn to be a great photographer they certainly can help. The courses cost between $25 and $45, more for personal tutoring. Courses are only offered at specified Dodd Camera locations so you will need to give them a call or check online for class schedules.
