Fun and Interesting Freelance Jobs

You are about to embark on your career path. You want a job that you can be happy with. But you also want to earn a livable income. You have gone through the regular lists of careers and are not drawn to any. Here are some fun and interesting jobs that you may not have thought about. Bear in mind that if you are not the commuting type, you can still learn more about freelance work as well.

When you look through a magazine or surf websites, have you ever noticed how much they differ in print, color, pictures, etc.? The person who chose how those things would fit together was likely a graphic designer. To become a graphic designer, start with a degree in graphic design. Then become a freelance web designer.

For some people, scrapbooking is a hobby. You can make money by selling scrapbooking supplies, teaching classes, or actually creating a scrapbook for someone. There is no education needed; all you need to do is be experienced and have some great examples of your work. Do you like touring buildings and looking at their aesthetics designs? Perhaps you should consider a job as an architect. They are responsible for designing what a building will look like as well as making sure that they meet all building codes. To become an architect, your best bet would be to find a school accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board.

A game designer is the person who designed your favorite video game. Game designers can do a wide range of things like design the artwork, develop the plot, make the levels, and write the codes that actually make the game playable. To get the proper education, consider an animation, art, or computer science degree and pick electives that will enhance communication, artistic ability, and technical skills. If you love looking at pictures of models on the runway and like anything to do with clothing, a fashion designer would be a terrific job for you. You do not really need a specific degree to become a fashion designer. What really counts is experience gained through doing internships, working in clothing stores, or making/altering clothes. Gain any knowledge you can about fabrics, garment construction, and accessories.

Walk into any building and take a look around. What you see around you - the furniture, carpeting, wallpaper, paint - are likely the fruits of the labor of an interior designer. To become one, pursue a degree in interior design. Gain experience by being an apprentice. Once you have some experience, join the American Society of Interior Designers or a similar organization. Museum curators are responsible for putting together the displays in museums - from authenticating the artifacts to arranging the displays. To become a curator, you should get an applicable (history, art, science) master's or doctorate degree.

For many, creativity has become closely tied to art. If you want to be an artist, choose the media that you like most. Next, find a school that offers a good art degree program. Lastly, participate in all contests and exhibitions you can to gain exposure. There are so many directions that you can go. It does not really matter what you do to earn money as long as it is satisfying to you and meaningful to others. Again, any of these jobs can be done in a freelance format, so expand your horizons.
