Tips to Get a Perfect Picture for Models

What separates two gorgeous aspiring models from each other? Their pictures of course. You can have all of the characteristics of a model which typically include height and size and if you can't take a beautiful picture, then you won't have a very successful modeling career.

There are so many pretty people in the world today. With the availability and affordability of plastic surgery anyone can be made attractive. When it comes to modeling, you have to be able to help the client sell their product or service.

Picture Perfect
After you get your professional makeup artist to make you up and your professional photographer who specializes in lighting you are half way there. These are two important factors in achieving a picture perfect photograph. Everything else is up to you.

Your eyes are the mirror to your soul. In photographs they tell a story. You want your eyes to appear as being alive and real. A trick that I learned is to close your eyes and then open them as wide as you can and then gradually bring them to a squint. This look is what Tyra Banks calls smiling with your eyes. It feels weird but with practice it will become natural. If you use this technique, I guarantee your eyes will not be lifeless in your photographs.

The other tip involves the usage of your hands and legs. Always think to keep it simple and that less is more. One of your hands should actually be placed on your waist emphasizing your figure and your legs should be together with one of your feet propped on your toe or all of your weight on one side of your body sitting into your hip.

Lastly, if you have a long neck make sure you show it. Stand tall and push those shoulders back. Photographers absolutely love long necks. It's like a canvas to them.

Just like any subject you are interested in your must study and learn the material or the industry. America's Next Top Model judge Nigel Barker just came out with his book entitled Beauty Equation. Be sure to check his book out for some pointers from the perspective of a model turned photographer and judge of a reality show. He is currently on a book signing tour coming to a city near you.
