How to Plan a Wedding on a Budget

Planning a wedding can be an extremely stressful thing to do and then trying to do so on a tight budget can only add to the stress. Here are a few tips that will help you to keep your budget low and still have a beautiful wedding.

Tip #1: Saving on the wedding rental
Renting a hall or church is very expensive. Try checking out your local community centers or parks to see what the cost is to rent one of those. Also consider friends and in-laws who might have a large backyard.

Tip #2: Saving on the wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses
Always start early when shopping for budget friendly gowns. Check out the discount racks and watch for sales. Many stores offer a sale in the off season for $99 dresses and bridesmaid gowns. This could be a huge savings! Also check out the bridesmaid gowns for wedding dresses as you can choose a gown and have it done in any color so it is easy to get a cheaper gown off the bridesmaid rack and have it done for you in white or cream.

Tip #3: Save on a photographer
Many colleges offer photography classes. Post signs or ads looking for a photographer at the college. You can also have a professional come in for the important photos such as the one between the bride and groom but put out disposable cameras at your reception for your guest to take pictures then deposit the cameras into a receptacle on their way out. This will give you candid photos while still being super cheap.
